Interested in Joining the PEPR Lab?
Interested students are invited to submit applications each year between April 1st and April 20th. Applications submitted after that time will be kept on file for 1 year, in the event that additional positions become available.
Information on general expectations for research assistants in the PEPR Lab, as well as information on how to apply can be found below.
The current research assistants in the PEPR Lab assist with ongoing studies examining a range of constructs, including emotional processes and personality functioning. Research assistants learn skills such as basic interviewing skills, implementation of tasks, and important data analytic techniques. Opportunities to prepare and present findings (e.g., in posters and papers) are also available to our current, motivated research assistants.
Students interested in conducting their own research generally first join the lab to learn its operations while working to prepare their research design. This process can take 1-2 semesters, depending on the student's rate of progress.

Note that graduate programs in psychology expect to see past research experience (not including course-related research). If you have not yet gotten additional research experience, but would like to apply for graduate school, joining a lab is essential.
General Expectations:
The Registrar's Office at St. Norbert College will allow students to register for either 2 credits (6 hours per week) or 4 credits (12 hours per week), under the PSYC 492 course listing.
